The M&T Charitable Foundation has sponsored students to be trained in the Winds of Agape Job Training Program.​     Many men and women have begun a career in Homecare Services, thanks to the grant provided by The M&T Charitable Foundation. 

The Jefferson Award identifies and honors local "Unsung Heroes" for their outstanding work in Public Service. In 2003, Winds of Agape co-founders Pastor Rick and Mrs. LaVerne Torrence were recipients of the prestigious Jefferson Award.

Winds of Agape (WOA) began in 1988, when Pastor Rick and Mrs. LaVerne Torrence organized a 20 member children's  choir,  as a way to  keep  neighborhood children off the streets and to help them become a positive force  in the community.
