Certified Home Health Aide Training Course

S= Safety - Give safe, considerate care in a clean environment

C= Communication - Communicate well with the client, family, staff and supervisors, with integrity and honesty. Observe, record and report.
I= Independence - Assist and encourage the client to function at his/her maximum level of ability
D= Dignity - Demonstrate personal integrity and treat the client with dignity at all times
A= AGAPE - Unconditional Love, Compassion and Caring
To date, 300 Certified Home Health Aides have completed our program, licensed by NYS Department of Health. We train idividuals to be excellent paraprofessionals. Certified Home Health Aides are the front line care givers for home care and are trained with our SIPCIDA philosophy.
Training consists of 4 weeks of classroom lectures (90 hours) and clinical practice (30 hours), for a total of 120 hours. This exceeds the NYS Department of Health requirement of 75 hours. Clinical training is provided in private homes, Assisted Living facilities and at Hospice sites.
Following certification, Home Health Aides are required to complete 12 hours of in-service training each year. This is available at Winds of Agape as well as re-certification.
